Southwest Snowbirds
Touches of Southwest antiques, greenery, and a spa-like master retreat made this Scottsdale condo irresistible for a couple of Snowbirds escaping the cold winters of their mountain hometown.
When I was asked to furnish this couple’s condo in a Southwest theme, I knew I wanted to embrace their ideas while also editing back – because simplicity can often be the dividing line between classy and kitschy. I mixed beautiful antique Southwest pottery, sand paintings, and artwork with clean lines of white linens and modern furniture.
“MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE NO DESIGN SENSE BUT WANTED OUR CONDO TO FEEL AND LOOK NICE. WE HIRED LEXIE AND TRUSTED HER TO CREATE AN AMAZING ATMOSPHERE IN AND OUT OF THE CONDO. I HONESTLY CANNOT GET OVER HOW BEAUTIFUL AND COZY IT IS, ALMOST LIKE THERE WAS A SUPER-SECRET PHOTOSHOOT IN OUR CONDO. CRAZY… LEXIE REALLY NAILED IT WITH ALL HER CREATIVITY.”

Simple linens and clutter-free nightstands make for a restful retreat.
The pair knew that they wanted to be outside, enjoying the views and the warm temperatures that Scottsdale has to offer. With that in mind, outdoor furniture was a top priority for them. They asked for comfortable seating that would allow them to entertain family and friends.

Aside from decor, the main living areas got new carpet and fresh paint. The kitchen counters were upgraded to marble, with a beautiful backsplash update, and brand new appliances.
